Before you collect
Hire terms
Bond and payment
The bond is taken at pickup and refunded once the tool is back, clean and undamaged. If we need to keep any of it, we'll tell you why and give you an itemised breakdown (with the repair quote or invoice), and refund the balance within 5 business days. Hire fees are payable at pickup by card or cash. Nothing is charged when you send a booking request.
How the day is counted
A day runs from pickup to the same time the next day, and the day you bring it back isn't charged. We're closed Saturday and Sunday, so weekend days aren't charged either — but a hire that keeps the tool over the weekend is charged for two days. Collect Friday, bring it back Monday, and you pay for two. Running late? Call or text and we'll agree a new return time. A tool returned more than an hour after the agreed time, without a new time agreed, is charged one extra day at the daily rate.
Fuel, oil and consumables
Petrol gear goes out with a full tank and comes back full, or we deduct the top-up from the bond. Two-stroke mix is available at the counter. Augers, chisels and blades are supplied sharp — fair wear is expected, breakage is not.
Damage, loss and safe use
Please take reasonable care of the tool from pickup to return. You won't be charged for fair wear and tear, or for a fault you didn't cause. If the tool is lost, stolen or damaged while in your care because reasonable care wasn't taken (for example, left unsecured overnight), you pay the reasonable cost of repair — or of replacement if it can't be repaired, never more than its current market value. Report any theft to the police and to us straight away. Every hire includes a run-through before you leave, and you can call Thomas mid-job if something isn't behaving. Don't use the demolition hammer or plate compactor without closed footwear, eye protection and hearing protection.
Cancelling or changing dates
Change or cancel free up to 24 hours before pickup — just call or text. Inside 24 hours we'll do what we can, but the gear may already be committed elsewhere.
Delivery
Pickup from Wallaroo is standard. Delivery around Kadina, Moonta and Moonta Bay can be arranged for a fee — ask when you book.
Your consumer rights
Our hire comes with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and nothing in these terms limits them. If a tool breaks down during your hire through no fault of yours, call us — we'll swap it, or refund the hire for the time you couldn't use it.
